Inter & Co Stadium: Orlando Pride vs. Portland Thorns

My ninth stadium in the series is a revisit of a place I’ve been before, the Pride’s stadium in Orlando, Florida. A couple years ago a friend moved to Florida from Portland, and we make a point of going to a game together once a year to catch up so it was fun to attend another one here, albeit this time with a more critical eye.

This was a clash of titans kind of game, with Portland on a 6 win streak and Orlando on a 7 win streak. Sophia Smith was out and Portland’s starting 11 was a bit weird. The Pride controlled the game completely for the first half, but thankfully after shuffling people at various positions, Portland got its groove in the second half and almost tied it up. In the end, the Orlando Pride set a new record with 8 straight wins and will remain at the top of the standings.

I haven’t seen attendance numbers on this match yet but with the Pride in first place, there were definitely more people attending the games than ever before, which was great to see.
